THE SECOND MODULE OF TRAINING OF TRAINERS FOR STATE SERVICE OF UKRAINE FOR FOOD SAFETY AND CONSUMER PROTECTION WAS CONDUCTED

In the framework of the second component of the Swiss-Ukrainian Milk Safety Project on the May, 17-19, 2017 SSFSCP’s specialists from the pilot oblasts (Poltava, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, Mykolayiv) and specialists of the Main Directorate of SSFSCP in Kyiv oblast and the central office took part in the second module of training of trainers. The main topics of the training focused on understanding the importance of using the best practices to produce safety milk. Also participants received updated knowledge on key aspects of animal health, herd health management programs, milking hygiene, storage and transportation of milk in accordance with the Ukraine and the EU legislation. The important part of the training is to increase the capacity of future trainers, so participants learned about methods and techniques of interactive learning. They also discussed the key aspects of the implementation of trainings for rayon specialists in each pilot oblasts that will be carried out by trained by the project trainers. Theoretical knowledge was tested during the field visits to dairy farms "Mayak" in Pischane vilage Zolotonosha rayon Cherkasy oblast where participants observed the real implementation of "best practices" and the positive results of their application. The same day, the group visited JSC "Zolotonosha Butter Plant", where representatives of the plant introduced to the basic aspects of transportation and reception of milk, its laboratory investigation and told about cooperation between plant and its suppliers. The project expresses special gratitude to Acting Head of the Department of SSFSCP in Zolotonosha rayon Dozorets Yevgeny Hryrohovych and deputy director of the agricultural company "Mayak" Vasilchenko Oleksiy Mykolayovych for assistance in organizing and conducting the field visits at high level.
