On January 31, the first technical workshop to support the implementation of the Risk Assessment Sector of the SSFSCP took place. The meeting was attended by the Head
of SSFSCP Volodymyr Lapa, Director of the Department of Food Safety and Veterinary Medicine Borys Kobal, Head of the Directorate of State Control Mykola Bilous, Head
of the Directorate of Animal Health and Welfare Mykola Sonko, Head of the Directorate of Food and Feed Safety Olga Semenchuk, Deputy Head of Directorate - Head of the
Unit of Food Safety Oksana Novokhatnya, Head of the Sector of Risk Assessment Oksana Boreyko, Head of the Unit of public relationship and media Mariana Vtorushyna,
as well as other national and international experts. The workshop was moderated by Katharina Stark, Director of Science and Quality, SAFOSO who has good experience in
the work of the Federal Office for Food Safety and Veterinary (FSVO) in Switzerland and in the field of epidemiological surveillance.
During the seminar, the participants discussed the roles and responsibilities of the risk assessment sector, including its relationships within to other relevant
Directorates and Units within the Service and specify the scope and priorities of work as a basis for the work programme for the coming time.
