The overall objective of the project is to support the establishment and implementation of a modern risk-based food safety control system in the dairy value chain in Ukraine.

The project’s activities are focused on one hand on providing technical assistance to the State Service on Food Safety and Consumer Protection to develop and put in place a modern, risk-based food safety inspection system in the dairy value chain and on the other hand on assisting the dairy processing industry to put in place an extension program to improve the production of safe and high quality milk in the primary industry. The project will also identify urgent equipment needs to support the implementation of the food inspection system and provide limited amounts of equipment based on the needs assessment.
